Gym Melbourne

Allied Health
Gym
Melbourne

Coached strength training in a small-group setting. Programmed by exercise scientists. Built around your injury history, your goals, and the same clinical team who treats you.

What Makes It Different

Not a normal gym.
Not a normal clinic.

Our Ravenhall gym is purpose-built for people who need (or want) to train around an injury, a chronic condition, or a performance goal. Every member completes an in-depth consultation and physical assessment before starting. From there, your programme is designed around your body, not a generic template that everyone follows.

Coaches are exercise scientists, physiotherapists, or myotherapists. Sessions are capped at 8 people. And if your back flares up during the week, your coach can talk to your therapist on Monday, because they work in the same building.

The Four Pillars

What you get

Small group, max 8

Every session capped so the coach knows your name, sees your form, and adjusts your load in real time.

Allied health led

Programmed and supervised by exercise scientists, physiotherapists, and myotherapists, not generalist trainers.

Built around injury history

You complete an in-depth assessment before joining. Programmes are then designed around your specific body, not a one-size-fits-all template.

Recovery to performance

Whether you're returning from injury or chasing a strength target, the gym is structured to move you forward without breaking you down.

Who It's For

The gym is perfect for

Post-rehab strength

You've finished physio or osteo and want to keep building under supervision, without going back to a regular gym alone.

Over-40 training

Strength, mobility, bone density and joint protection, programmed by people who understand age-related change.

Chronic conditions

Arthritis, osteoporosis, low back pain, cardiovascular disease, we design programmes around your medical context.

Performance & sport

Specific strength, power, or capacity work for your sport or event. Return-to-sport testing where appropriate.

General strength & fitness

You want to get strong, move well, and stay injury-free, coached, not just supervised.

Confidence to train

First-time lifters welcome. We teach technique before adding load.

FAQs

Common questions about our gym

Is this a normal gym I can drop into?
No. This is a coached small-group facility, every session is led by a qualified coach who knows your programme. There's no casual entry; you join as a member and your programme is designed around your goals and history.
Do I need to see a physio or osteo at IAC first?
No. The initial assessment we do before you start covers your movement, injury history, and goals. If we identify something that needs clinical input, we'll recommend it, but most members join the gym directly.
How much does it cost?
Membership pricing depends on session frequency and includes the initial assessment plus your supervised programme. See our prices page or contact us for current rates.
Is the gym claimable on health insurance?
Gym membership itself is not claimable. However, if you join as part of an exercise physiology programme (for a chronic condition), those sessions are claimable under Medicare CDM and most private health funds.
Where is the gym?
Our allied health gym is located at our Ravenhall clinic, 38 Panamax Rd. Same building as our physio, osteo, myo and exercise physiology team, so coordinated care happens under one roof.
