Personal Training Melbourne

Personal
Training
Melbourne

1:1 coaching by qualified exercise scientists, integrated with our clinical team. Programmes built around your injury history, your goals, and your real life.

What We Offer

Coaching that knows
your body.

Most personal training treats your body like a blank slate. Ours doesn't. Every IAC personal training session is delivered by a qualified exercise scientist who reads your injury history, talks to your physio or osteo if needed, and adapts each session around how you actually presented that day.

It's not just strength work. It's structured programming, technique coaching, and accountability โ€” designed by someone who understands both the performance side and the clinical side. The result is training that builds capacity without breaking you down.

Who It's For

Personal training is perfect for

Returning from injury

You've finished physio or osteo and want to rebuild strength under supervision before going back to a regular gym.

Training over 40

You want to maintain muscle, mobility, bone density, and joint integrity into the next decade โ€” programmed by someone who understands age-related change.

Performance goals

You have a sport, an event, or a strength target. We build the programme to hit it โ€” and to keep you injury-free along the way.

Confidence in the gym

You want one-on-one coaching to learn lifts properly, understand programming, and feel competent before stepping into a group setting.

Chronic conditions

You have a long-standing condition (arthritis, osteoporosis, low back pain, etc.) and need exercise prescribed by someone who understands the medical side.

General strength & fitness

You just want to get strong, move well, and feel better โ€” guided by a coach who reads each session and adapts on the fly.

FAQs

Common questions about personal training

What is the difference between personal training at IAC and a regular gym?
Our personal training is delivered by qualified exercise scientists who work alongside the clinical team. Every programme is designed around your injury history, current capacity, and goals โ€” not a generic plan. We can adjust treatment and training in the same week if needed, because everyone is in the same building.
Do I need to have seen a physio or osteo at IAC first?
No. You can come straight to personal training. If we see something during your initial assessment that we think needs clinical input, we'll recommend an appointment โ€” but it's not a prerequisite.
How many sessions per week do you recommend?
Most clients see results with 1โ€“3 supervised sessions per week, depending on goals and budget. If you have a busy schedule, we can design a programme where you do 1 supervised session per week plus 1โ€“2 sessions you complete independently โ€” we'll coach you through both.
Can I claim personal training on private health insurance?
Personal training itself is not claimable on private health insurance. However, if you have a chronic condition, exercise physiology sessions with our team are claimable under Medicare CDM plans and most private health funds โ€” same coaches, same gym, just a different appointment type.
Where do personal training sessions happen?
All personal training sessions take place at our Ravenhall clinic, which houses a fully equipped allied health gym. Some sessions may also be available at Williamstown for strength and conditioning specifically โ€” contact us to confirm availability.
